Artist Statement
Somayeh Naeimi Moayed’s practice develops at the intersection of image, text, and embodied mark-making. Working across painting, calligraphy, photography, and digital image-based composition, she approaches the surface as a site of emotional density, where memory, vulnerability, and interruption coexist.
Her visual language often moves between visibility and erasure. Forms appear, withdraw, fracture, or dissolve, while language shifts away from literal reading and becomes atmosphere, rhythm, and trace. Rather than offering fixed narrative, the work sustains a suspended space in which silence, tension, and affect remain active.
